Privacy Policy
I built Timecard Genny to make filling out crew timecards and kit rental forms fast and painless. I am one person, not a big company, and I collect as little as I possibly can. I do not sell your data, I do not run ads, and your timecards are encrypted so that only you can read them, not even me. Here is exactly how it works.
Who runs this
Timecard Genny is built and operated by me, Harris Khan (referred to as "I" or "me" throughout this policy). You can reach me anytime at [email protected].
What I collect
If you create an account, I store:
- Your email address, to sign you in and identify your account.
- Whether your account has paid access.
You also enter timecard, kit rental, and profile information, which is handled separately and encrypted, described below.
What I cannot see
Important: because your data is encrypted with your password, if you forget your password your saved timecards cannot be recovered. Save it somewhere safe.
Your timecard and kit rental content, including anything you type such as the last four digits of a Social Security Number and a signature image, is encrypted on your own device before it reaches me. I only ever receive it as unreadable, scrambled data. I cannot read your timecards, your rates, your hours, your SSN digits, or your signature.
One honest note: Timecard Genny runs in your web browser, and I am the one who serves you that code. So the accurate promise is that your data is encrypted so I cannot read it, not that it sits on a sealed device I could never reach. I do not want the ability to read your timecards, and I have built this so that I do not have it.
No method of storing data online is perfectly secure, so while I take strong measures to protect your information, I cannot guarantee absolute security.
What I do not do
- I do not sell your data to anyone, ever.
- I do not share your timecard data with third parties for advertising.
- I do not show ads.
- I cannot read your timecards at all. They are encrypted so that only you can open them, explained above.
If you forget your password
Because your data is encrypted with your password, and no one, including me, can unlock it without that password, there is no way to recover your saved timecards if you forget your password. This is the tradeoff of real privacy: the same thing that stops me from reading your data also means I cannot unlock it for you. Please save your password somewhere safe. If you lose it, I can help you get back into your account, but the timecards you saved before cannot be recovered.
Payments
Payments are handled by Stripe. Your payment information goes directly to Stripe, not to me. I never see or store your card details. I only receive a confirmation that a payment succeeded, along with your email, so I can unlock your access. You can read Stripe's practices at stripe.com/privacy.
The services I rely on
To run Timecard Genny, I use a small number of providers: Cloudflare (hosting), Supabase (encrypted storage), Stripe (payments), and Resend (which delivers account emails such as your setup and welcome messages). Each has its own privacy practices.
Your choices
- You can log out at any time, which clears your session and your decrypted data from that device.
- You can ask me to delete your account and its data by emailing [email protected], and I will take care of it.
Children
Timecard Genny is a tool for working film and TV crew and is not intended for anyone under 18. I do not knowingly collect information from children.
Your rights
You can ask me to show you or delete the personal information I have about you, like your email address, at any time by emailing me. Depending on where you live, including under California law, you may have a formal right to this. Either way, just email me and I will take care of it.
Changes to this policy
If I change this policy, I will update the date at the top of this page. If the change is significant, I will do my best to let account holders know.
